"I have the Tucker coverup to carry my S&W CS45. It is an exceptionally well made unit and conceals exceptionally well. I have a kydex to carry one of my black guns and find that it is very tough on the finish. The edges of the gun wear very quickly with kydex. The kydex is definitley thinner but I see no carrying issue with the thicker leather and the gun stays 'prettier' longer. I will not buy kydex again.
