| Comments on the Cover UpReview: Tucker Gunleather Cover Up Holster I have been searching for a good IWB holster for a long time. I am a pretty picky shopper, and I wanted this holster to have a certain set of features that would work best for me. After quite a search, I believed I had found what I was looking for in the Tucker Gunleather Cover Up. I sent Rob Longenecker an email and within a few days I had my new holster for my Browning Hi Power. Here are some of the key features I wanted in an IWB holster. First, I wanted a holster that had a sweatshield of some sort, not so much for sweat but to have a pad between the thumb safety and my luv handle -- just for extra protection for my body and to help ensure the thumb safety isn't accidentally snicked off. I also wanted a holster with minimal bulk and that would be easy to take off if I needed to, without having to remove my belt. The Cover Up has a nice, wide kydex belt clip that makes it easy to take the holster off without removing the belt, yet holds the gun very sturdily and minimizes shifting or rocking back and forth. I had looked at a couple of holsters that looked very good -- the Burns/Alessi GWH and the DelFatti ISP with solid loop -- but alas, these require belt removal to take the holster off. I still think those are both excellent holsters, but did not meet my specific wants/needs. Another thing I specifically like about the Cover Up, is that the cant is fully adjustable. This brings a whole world of flexibility that I haven't seen in many other holsters. I found that it took me a while to adjust the angle so that it felt right to me and my body. But once I found the right angle, I tightened the screw on the belt clip and it stayed put -- no shifting. I have tried some other holsters where the angle seemed just slightly wrong -- not sure if it is just me or my body, but I am very pleased with the adjustable feature of the Cover Up. I also like a holster that gives a full firing grip on the draw. Some holsters cover so much of the trigger guard that I have to draw the gun slightly out of the holster and then move my hand up on the grip so that my middle finger rides as high as possible and is pressed firmly against the underside of the trigger guard. I have been spoiled by the OWB kydex belt holsters from Kytac that have the full bottom of the trigger guard exposed, specifically to facilitate a full firing grip. The Cover Up is one of the best IWB holsters I have seen for having very little material around the bottom of the trigger guard to allow for a good grip like this. If that all isn't enough, there is one other flexible feature of the Cover Up. The kydex belt clip design allows the holster to be worn "tuckable," with a shirt tucked in over the gun. I was kind of skeptical that this mode would be comfortable or really concealable, but I was wrong. Today I wore the holster all day long, at home, in the car, shopping, at the restaurant, etc. It worked great and was quite comfortable. And I wore it in "tuckable" mode. The gun concealed very well under a navy oxford type shirt and I didn't have any issues with printing. The clip is the only part that is exposed when worn this way -- but most people don't notice a clip like that, not with all the cell phones and pagers and such these days. Just as a disclaimer, I have no link to Tucker Gunleather and am not being reimbursed by them in any way. I am just an average "Joe" who was looking for a good holster at a fair price, with the features that I wanted, and am satisfied that I found it.
